3 of the Most Dangerous Creatures in the World
Wildlife and nature are beautiful things, however, there are a few creatures that stand out and will never enter into relationship with man. We must respect and appreciate them for their contribution to the planet, yet always be on guard for their propensity for death and destruction.
1. Mosquitos
The tiny mosquito may seem harmless enough and we believe we are
protected when applying a repellant. However, there are over 3500
species of this deadly carrier of germs and disease, and the traveling
mosquito is stealth in its approach. By the time you see them zero in on
their victim, it's too late to defend yourself from their infectious
bite. Mosquitos like to breed in stagnant water and sticky humid weather
conditions and can make themselves at home almost anywhere in the
world.
2. Hippopotamus
The hippopotamus may have an endearing face and seem to be smiling all
of the time, however, look out for an unprovoked savage attack.
Hippopotamus comes from the Greek root word for river horse, and this
third largest land mammal can be found lolling about on a lazy river,
eating vegetation and engaging in social behavior amongst themselves.
The hippo has a history of attacking man for no apparent reason, with
documentation dating back to King Menes of Egypt, who was said to have
been killed in battle with a hippopotamus. Most species in animal
kingdom will strike and kill a human being for food, however, the
hippopotamus is a vegetarian and kills man for sport. Sure, hippos are
cute, but they are also temperamental and just plain mean.
3. Sharks
The shark is an emotionless creature that never sleeps and is on the
hunt 24/7. Silent in approach and attacking without provocation, this
deadly creature remains the dominant fear factor for surfers, divers,
swimmers and even boaters on small watercrafts. The shark's teeth are
constantly replaced with razor-edged biting capabilities, and combined
with the shark's impressive intelligence and acute senses, this deep sea
eating machine shows no mercy. Avoid a shark at all costs and always be
ready for mortal combat with this dangerous and frightening predator.
